2010 is ending, and possibly my P365 hiatus!

I've spent a little bit of time researching blog templates tonight. Do you know that since the last time I had to make a blog, Blogger changed the way you can design your blog? Back in my scrapping days I had the whole thing down to a science, hacks and all, but now a lot of the hacks I used aren't even needed anymore. How strange! Imagine, everything is now easier. And for some reason, I'm having a harder time figuring out what to do with it all.

Long story short, I would like to start the whole Project 365 thing again in January, and am thinking of merging my photo blog and my personal blog into one, now that Blogger has included pages and tabs into their designs (yay!). I'm basically telling you all this for no good or logical reason. Maybe I'm reaching out for help from my blog-savvy friends? Maybe I'm reaching out for suggestions of what y'all like to read? Maybe I'm just looking for an atta girl? Or maybe it's just cuz I know this blog is fed to my Facebook page, and if I make a post on another of my blogs no one will see it...

I'm also working on a blog for the ladies ministry at my church, you can see the sample of it if you CLICK HERE. Ignore the unfinished look, because it's, well, unfinished. Basically my hope is that, as we are working through a Bible study that meets only once a week, some people will jump onto the blog and continue the discussion outside the regular room with the regular seats and the regular temperamental air conditioning. Preferably in their PJ's after the kids have gone to bed and the creative juices are still flowing. So take a gander at my blog's rough draft, laugh at the sample posts, and let me know what you think of the whole Berean Ladies blog idea.

Flowers, Lizards, and Fun Times; Here’s September!

Well, we had a blast in September, for the most part. Nate was gone, it was just me ‘n Charly, killing time. I take more pics when Nate is away, so he can still see what’s up at home. So here ya are: September.

Day 245: 1st Dentist Visit: Yes I know, 5.5 years old is prolly a little old for a first dentist visit, but at least we had one. :) And she had a great time, she’s such a good kid!

Day 246: Name Letters: Inspired by some super creative ladies at church, I decided to let Charly decorate letters for her name, and then we hung them on her bedroom wall. She let me decorate a tiny little bit, but she did 95% of the painting, stickering, and gluing herself. And they look fab! Then I asked her for a rockstar pose. :)

Day 250: My Roses, 1 & 2: I have a rosebush in my garden. I pray I can keep it alive, it’s sooooo purty!

And this next pic I am totally in love with. I learned some new things in Adobe Camera Raw in the process of editing this photo.

Day 251: Incoming Storm: Yep, we were driving toward it. Just HAD to get groceries.

Day 255: Charly and Miss Priscila: This is another cell phone picture. My phone cam takes the crummiest photos. I tried to save it in Photoshop, but there wasn’t much I could do. I still have a lot to learn. I also REALLY want a Sony c905 phone when I upgrade in January. Google it if you like. :)

Day 256: Cold Pizza: This is a pic for Daddy, it’s Charly eating cold pizza, straight from the fridge. Yup, Daddy’s little girl!

Day 258: Charly’s New Boots: Fall marks the time when Charly gets new boots. It’s a yearly tradition. This year she chose these over ones that looked cooler, because these “look like Daddy’s boots.” :-D

Day 263: Charly N Mommy: My favorite photo of us to date. Love it!

Day 265: Charly’s Shirt: So, Charly lost all her markers because she chose to color on her WHITE CHURCH PANTS with a blue marker. Her excuse was that the marker was washable. Lucky for her it was. So I decided, if that’s what she wants to do, then I’ll buy her fabric markers and let her draw on clothes on purpose. This is her first shirt. That’s her family, including our dog Annie, inside a heart, and then over the top right of us is God. :) And of course lots of hugs and kisses. Daddy is the big person, and I think he has on a “rock shirt.”

Day 266: McDonald’s Rainbow: As we were leaving Mickey Dee’s we saw this awesome rainbow. Not the best intersection to photograph, but that’s okay. I like the contrast.

Then on our way home, we saw this sky, and I just had to stick the camera phone out the window as we were driving by:

Day 267: Roses Day 1: So my darling husband ordered us 100 roses. They filled 2 large vases and 3 small bud vases. He’s so awesome!

Day 268: Roses Day 2: He had the foresight to order a vase to match the new dishes I bought, that he hadn’t even seen yet. What man thinks of that?! Mine does! Hehe.

Day 269: New Wedding Band: I finally ordered a new ring for myself, after a year of not wearing the original one that doesn’t fit my finger anymore.

Later in Day 269, we had an amphibious visitor. Dunno how long he’d been in our house, but it was cool all the same. :)

And in this one, Charly thought it was so funny that his tail looked like it had fallen off, lol.

Day 273: Princess Charly: I so love this photo, and the freckles especially! Now, can I have my 5yo back? She seems to have been replaced by a 10-year-old…

Okie doke, that’s all for September. Today is Oct 10th and I’ve only taken two photos so far this month, so I’m sure that the Oct post will be much shorter than this one was. Whatever happened to me posting once a week? Eh, I dunno, but at least I’m posting. *-) Later!

August: Such a Busy Month!

A roof leak, a wedding, a Kindergartner, arts and crafts, and family time…we had so much to do in August!

Day 214: Cutie on the Truck: She was so cute I couldn’t help myself. :)

Day 215: Wet Wall: That’s the new paint, and between it and the sheetrock is a bunch of water, all bubbled up. Praise God, a little over a week later the leak was fixed. The paint we had to peel off to drain the water out isn’t. Yet. :)

Day 218: Drumming Hands: I had on some interesting Middle Eastern music at dinner one night, and Nate couldn’t resist grabbing the bongos and playing along. I wish I’d had my tripod, but this pic still came out okay.

Day 220: Daddy Daughter Night: Church had a special night for dads and their daughters, and Charly and Nate looked so great together!

Day 223: Cricket: I was taking pics of some weird looking spiders and saw this cutie just sitting there posing for me.

Day 224: Trying on Dresses: I had taken this with my camera phone to send to the bride-to-be for approval. We ended up buying it and Charly looked super cute!

Day 230: Cupcakes: Trying to be artsy with this one. I loved the red cake and the white icing together.

Day 231: Red Marker: We decided to make a mask out of a paper plate and some markers and string and stuff. I love crafts!

Day 234: Matt’s Ring: Our friends Matt and Priscila were married on the 22nd. Nate and Charly were both in the wedding, and I got to take some pictures of my own. Mostly to keep from bawling. :) I like this one a lot.

Day 235: Arty Name: I do believe this is the first time she made artistic letters. So dang cool!!

Day 237: Big Kindergartner: She’s so awesome, all ready for her first day of Big Kid School!

Day 239: Waiting for Charly: She says she positioned them like this, but I really thought Nate had. In any case, these are Charly’s fave toys, all watching the door for her return.

Holy frijoles, I made it thru July!

Heya! July was an especially busy month, but I do believe I managed to take pictures for about half the days in the month! Yay! I’m slowly working back into that wonderful photo-a-day habit. :) A lot of the July photos were taken with my camera phone, which has very crummy quality, and I did what I could in Photoshop, but still. Sony makes Cybershot phones now, and one of those is certainly on my wishlist! (My bday is less than 4 months away, hint hint, lol). So, here ya are, July:

Day 182: God’s Rays: Walking out of Lowe’s, on one of our MANY trips there, we were welcomed by this awesome gift from God. I do so love it when you can see rays shining out from the clouds!

Day 186: Soap Beard: She’s so silly! She even made soap eyebrows!

Day 187: The Coolest Broom Ever: We were eating dinner at a Chinese buffet place, and the people there swept the floor with this broom. Now, the picture sucks, but here’s how it looked: Imagine all the bristles curled up. All of them. That’s how it looked, one big cluster of curled and mashed up bristles. But I saw the lady sweep with it, and it really worked! So odd.

Day 195: Computer Time With Dad: They’re so sweet. :)

Day 197: Dad Ride: Why walk to the living room when you can hitch a ride?

Day 198: Hail in July?! Yup, here it is:

Day 198: My 4-Leaf Clover: The same day as the hail, I found a 4-leaf clover!!

Day 199: Deflated Bed: I thought this was funny looking, like we have a really old bed or something. So I took a pic, but I really wish the deflated-ness translated better on film. (In case this is confusing, we have a Sleep Number bed, which is basically a glorified air bed. The king-size one has two air chambers in it so that each person can choose their own level of firmness or softness.)

Day 201: Show Me Ya Grill: Yeah apparently aluminum tape is way more fun on your teeth than used as it’s intended. Though wrestling the duct thing was fun too, at least to watch, lol.

Day 207: Watching Daddy Do The Fan: I had no other clever title. But it would appear that it’s way easier to watch what Daddy’s doing perched on his shoulders, instead of sitting beside him or something.

Day 209: Sandy Car: So I took a wrong turn and got stuck in sand. In the middle of the afternoon. In 95 degree weather. With no cell phone signal. Luckily, no signal only means “not enough for a call” but there was enough signal in spurts to get a text message out. Note to self: no more dirt roads. This pic doesn’t make the car look really stuck, but you can see the front passenger bumper is sitting on the sand. Meaning the car is basically buried up to the bumper. Good times.

Day 210: Facebook nerds: We got the desks set up, and computers temporarily set up. Then you can see what we did next. *-)

Day 212: Wrecktastic Poo Cake: I love the Cake Wrecks blog. So every time I see a cake that would fit the kinds they show, I take a pic and send it in. They haven’t posted one of my pics yet, but ya never know, this poo cake might just be it.

Okie dokie, and that’s all for July. Probably. Oh, but I spose I could add this one from June that was hiding on my phone. This was taken at the Golden Corral on Day 177. Notice the signs say “Fresh Produce” and “Prepared Here.” I’ve highlighted that produce for you, in the red box. Maybe it was freshly canned?

One Day in May, and Another in June

I got the pics from Nate’s phone! Apparently, in addition to the Memorial Day ones I also did a mini-shoot of Nate and Charly in June. Nearly all the pics from that were so cute that I’m just posting them here too, instead of just one of them.

Day 145: Memorial Day Flags: Yes, the official May post already showed 2 photos for Day 145, but still, I’m lacking so much, here’s another. *-)

Day 158: Playing Around at Lunch: Nate got a new phone, and finally got me to play with it. What do I do first? Take pictures. And aren’t they just the best subjects too?!

Here they’re “trying not to smile.” It’s a game I played when I was a kid. Charly is usually not this good at it…

I dunno what’s going on here, but I LOVE it!

While I’m At It, Here’s Most of June Too!

Another small month, but that’s okay, I was busy livin! Lol…

Day 154: Cubby Charly: This was taken at her graduation from Cubbies. She finished her 2nd year and will be a Sparky when Awana starts back next month!

Day 156: Sittin Like a Grownup: Here she is at her preschool graduation, and already sitting like an adult! What’s up with that, Miss Pretty?!

Day 161: She made cards for her teachers, Miss Mary and Miss Janice. I wrote on paper how to write what she wanted to say on and in them, and she copied it! Then of course had to embellish the cards with little pretty things, and did a great job choosing stickers and colors that matched each teacher’s preferences. Oh, and this was also the day she discovered exclamation marks. She loves that she can convey her excitement and enthusiasm with them, and certainly loves to read them! Lol. And if you notice, she also wrote “ever” in all caps, also to convey her enthusiasm. :)

Day 172: Charly Sending Some Love: She made this heart out of some magnet things, and said she wanted me to take a picture so she could “send her love” to everyone. So, everyone, here is your love. :)

Day 175: Sunflowers: I loved having these on the table for a few days. Lovely greenery and purple baby’s breath were a perfect complement to the gorgeous sunflowers. I’m posting 2 pics cuz I couldn’t choose just one.

Day 176: Monkey Joe’s: I love how her hair was falling in this photo!

Day 177: Charly’s Bejeweled-Type Game: So I love playing Bejeweled on Facebook, and one day Charly was on the Noggin site and found a Go Diego Go game that’s REALLY similar. Of course I had to document it, she played it forEVER!

Hooray for May!!

I would like to say that I’ve been slaving away all day to get the May photos done, but seeing as how I only took pictures 5 days in May (plus one more day that’s still on Nate’s phone), it wasn’t so hard to get through them. I honestly have no idea why I didn’t take more, maybe I lost the camera or something? I feel kinda bad now; it’s almost like there should be more pics from May stashed on some camera or hard drive somewhere. Forgotten and lost. But alas, this is what I have, and I already know that I did better in June (those will be up soon, hehe.) So here ya are, May:

Day 124: The Rain I’m Driving Into: This was on my way home from my awesome mini-vacay with my bff Maria in Charleston, WV. I prayed that I would just drive in and out of the rain, that it wouldn’t stick with me thru the mountains. God’s a pretty good listener when He wants to be. :)

Day 126: Messed Up Pic: I have no clue why my camera phone did this, but it’s so weird I had to post it here. And yes, that’s Charly hanging on to Chuck E Cheese. :)

Day 136: Butterfly Mobile: We decided to make a butterfly mobile. I cut butterfly shapes out of transparency paper and we painted one side of them. Then hung them from monofilament (fishing) string from a twisted hanger. They look kinda neat. Here’s the shot of the day:

And cuz it’s so cool, here are two more shots, the beginning and the end of the art process:

Day 141: Yes, She Dressed Herself: She’s in this phase now, when she puts on socks she pulls them all the way up, as high as they will go. For some pairs that means they go over her knees, it’s quite cute. Not to mention that if it’s a flowered jacket and a flowered shirt, they obviously match, seeing as how they’re the same shape and all.

Day 145: A Kid and Her Dog: So I was taking photos of the plants I have by the window. Charly decided she wanted to pose. So did Annie. They were way better subjects than the plants.

Next I will post the Memorial Day photos I have tucked away on Nate’s camera, if they’re any good. Then it’s on to June!

The Rest of April

Yay, I got April all finished up! I did skip some days, as warned, and in looking through my photos I noticed that May was very skippish too. Just to say. So Maybe I’ll toss in some extra photos for the May blog posts. :) Or just make some extra posts! Anywho, here’s the rest of April:

Day 106: McFayden Pond Park: This wasn’t my fave photo of the series taken this day, but the ones that were had my friend’s kid in them, and I haven’t asked her if I could post them here. If I get her permission, I’ll post them. Her kid is such a cutie! However, I do really love the colors I’ve got here, it feels like a photo from the 70’s for some reason…

Day 108: Ready to Hike: Daddy and Charly were going hiking and she was all set to go. She’s got her Army shirt and her L’il Airborne hat. :)

Day 109: Two Thumbs Way Up: This is currently the wallpaper on my phone. She’s so cool! And yeah, you can see me in the glasses, lol.

Day 111: Clean Desk: Yes I took pictures to mark this momentous occasion. And it won’t be clean like this again until we move, lol. Okay, maybe not, but still…and now that I’m looking at it, this is a really good self-portrait.

Day 113: All American Lunchtime: This is the All American Expressway gate to Fort Bragg at lunchtime. What was I thinking trying to get on post at this time thru this gate?!

Day 116: In the Dugout: This was taken at our church’s softball picnic outing at Arnette Park. We had a great time, though you can’t tell that here. What makes this pic even funnier is that standing next to Charly is her friend with this HUGE grin on her face. Too bad I had to crop her out. But I made it look all moody and now she looks like some 3rd world kid in a Nat’l Geo Mag article, well, a kid that eats every day. I think this look is on her face because she thinks the door is stuck and she can’t get out. Or she’s not getting her way. Or something like that.

Day 119: Go Panthers!: August is the month after next. Yay!!! Oh, for those of you that don’t care, that just means the start of preseason football. Which indicates that regular season football is really close. Charly thinks it would be really fun to “cheerlead.” She wore this to school for Sports Day.

Catching Up and Stuff

So I've allowed myself to fall behind a little. I kinda knew it was inevitable, and I'm glad I made it as far as I did. :) In May I ended up in the ER with a horrible migraine and had a CT done to make sure nothing was wrong. As it turns out I do have a brain. Whew! But since then I've only been in Photoshop maybe 3 times, which is shocking really. I haven't done any scrapbooking, except one flower, and I've only edited a handful of photos. I do have a lot of photos to edit and post though, and I will be working on those. I just wanted to put a little post here to let anyone who might read this blog know that stuff is in existence and will be coming. And I'll try to post the photos in small increments so there's not one blog post with 30 pics in it, lol.

Woohoo I passed 100 Days!!

And without further ado, here are the photos that got me past 100!

Day 91: Backwards Day: This day was April Fool’s Day, and so Charly’s class had Backwards Day and wore their clothes, well, you can guess. She LOVED it!! And please, no Kris Kross songs, don’t make me have to jump jump on ya! (hehe)

Day 92: Burnt Arm: Yeah, I did it. In fact, 12 days later as I type this, there’s still a scab, albeit a small one. It has FINALLY stopped itching. I burned my arm on steam, in case you were wondering, and this pic was taken a few hours after it happened. It looked worse the next day, or so.

Day 93: Sleep Study Fun: This night I had my sleep study, and Charly thought it was so cool to see me get hooked up. Her attitude is evidenced by this photo, as is mine. *-)

Day 94 Part 1: Charly was rising bikes with the kid next door. I saw this and had to run out and snap a pic. I love it!

Day 94 Part 2: Charly and I had a mini photo shoot for Mamaw, so she could see Charly and the animals she made for Charly. So cute! In this pic, Charly is giving them kisses. I will certainly post the rest of these pictures on the personal blog.

Day 96: Cot Up High: So this day it was really windy. Like, REALLY windy. I went to let the dog out, and she just stood at the top of the porch steps, wouldn’t go down. So I stepped out on the porch to get her to go down and go potty, and I saw this. I didn’t do the best job of getting a really good perspective shot, but there on the right the leg is thru the top of the gate. Also on the right you can see the cot clears the top of that toddler slide.

Day 98: Nursery Tantrum: Sometimes there are days in the nursery when all the kids are crying. This was one of those days. The child in the photo lied down by the door and screamed for Mommy. Fun I tell ya.

Day 99: Go Charly Go!: This day Charly’s class had a Bike Rodeo where all the kids brought their bikes and rode around in the blocked-off parking lot. This is the same Charly that always whines when we ask if she wants to ride her bike. At the rodeo, she finally got the hang of it. Yay!!!

Day 100: School Naptime: I came to get her, and I arrived early so she was still sleeping. She had her blanket under her mat as a pillow (I think?) and the sheet that usually covers her mat was wrapping her arms up against her body. The whole scene was so cute, I simply had to take a photo.

Day 102: Family Park Pic: Easter Day we went on a 4+ mile hike (nature walk) and it was so pretty. I took a lot of photos, some that were awesome, but figured y’all would probably want to see this one the most. *-)

Day 103: Jim’s Pirate Cake: This day Charly and I went to a birthday party of three kids of our friends Jim and Stephanie. Each year they make cakes that their kids pick out. This year they made a Flying V guitar, a pony, and this pirate. This has got to be the coolest pirate cake ever!

Day 104: Supastar: Today (yes today, though technically yesterday, since it is after midnight now) Charly decided she wanted to look fancy. And thought that to look fancy for the photo she needed to be sitting down. This series of pics is great, but I really love this one.

And there ya have it. I’m so exhausted, gonna head to bed now. Charly is on Spring Break this week, so I’ll certainly have lots of fun pics to show y’all next time I post!

Burning things, getting dressed up, and eating sweets: A couple weeks at the Harris house.

Well, just about a couple weeks. This is probably my most varied set of pics to post to date! Hehe, so here we go.

Day 76: Backyard Tarp: I was so happy to have a fenced in yard. So happy that I could let the dog out the door and she could do her thing. So happy that I didn’t have to stand out in the rain anymore. Apparently, she was so happy that she could dig in the dirt. And then it rained. I believe Annie loved digging in the mud even more. And it just so happens the part of our yard that doesn’t have grass is the part where you absolutely must walk to get to the rest of the yard. Let me tell you when it rained, we had a puddle right there. And then Annie decided to attempt to dig her own pool. So I got out the tarp and now we look like the Clampett’s. But at least she’s not muddy when I call her to come in!

Day 78: Dress Up Charly: I believe she put on everything she possibly could. What you can’t see is that she even has fluffy socks and dress-up shoes on. It was so hilarious! She’s so cute…

Okay, and for Nate’s sake, cuz he loves her, I also took a pic of Annie this same day, and I’ll go ahead and post that now too. But I don’t want to hear anything about how cute she is!

Day 81: Backyard Comforts: Yes, I turned the dirt-covering tarp into a tent. But only after it had lain over the fence for a few days drying off! (And on a note, it’s now on the ground again covering mud, for the most part). And check out Mom’s chair over there. Nice eh?

Day 82: Hunk O Chocolate: Yep. Nate bought it because it was a big hunk of chocolate. The label says to keep it in the fridge. Do you know how hard it is to cut a big, cold, hunk o chocolate?! And just to say, check out the price there on the label. Nate is nuts!

Day 84: Burnt Griddle: Yeah he can’t believe I took a picture, and certainly can’t believe I’m going public with it. But whatever, in a strange way I think it’s funny. And someday he will too. Maybe I find it amusing because I’m usually the one burning things on the stove (and I’m not talking about food). Poor griddle. And yes, poor Nate too.

Day 85: Target Snack Time: There are a lot of cute pictures taken at this time. But this one just grabbed me. Sometimes I feel like my family’s paparazzi.

Day 86: Princess Charly: For her birthday she got a game called Pretty Pretty Princess. It’s the Disney Princesses Aurora one if you wanna know, lol. And the object is to go around the board and collect pieces of jewelry. You know this was a photo opportunity.

Day 88: Ice Cream Plate: At least he’s not dirtying another dish, right?

Day 89: Napkins: Today (seriously, today, as in right now the day that I’m posting this = I’m caught up!) I decided to make a digital paper from a napkin. So that means lots of pictures. And to show you, I made a collage for today’s photo:

Believe it or not, they are all different from each other, and only one was good enough to make the grade. It will be in my next kit, a collaboration for my final challenge in the Desire 2 Inspire contest at Inspiration Lane. But that’s stuff for another blog. *-)

Anywho, so that’s all for now.I can’t imagine what fun things I’ll be photographing this week, but the weather’s gonna be nice, and Charly is finally over being sick, so you’ll probably see more park pictures! Until then, be safe and have fun every day!

75 Days and I’m hanging in there!

I’ve only got 8 pictures to post today. It would appear that maybe I’m doing a little better at getting the pics onto the blog. Maybe. :) So, here we go…

Day 68: Cloudy Night Sky: I was taking out the trash I think and couldn’t believe how gorgeous the sky looked! So I’m sure my neighbor thought I was weird, or maybe thought I was taking pics of his house, but whatever. :) Making the gorgeous sky look good through my camera…not so easy.

Day 69: Yummy Cupcakes: Charly’s Grandma and Pop Pop sent her this cupcake in a box gift for her bday. It came with everything you need to make cupcakes, including an apron (the best part!). So of course I had to grab the camera for this event!

Day 70: Broken Plant: So the yard people (gardener is too fancy a term) mulched the yard and uprooted my blooming tulip. Ugh I was fuming!

Day 71: Red Robin: Tonight we went out to dinner with three of my friends and their combined 5 children (6 with Charly). In my opinion, there was no table big enough, but we made do. :) Please excuse the apparent lack of quality, this is from my camera phone, in a low light situation.

Day 72: Charly and Her Bear: Daddy sent us flowers and this bear was part of them! Thanks Daddy!

Day 73: Charly’s First Still Life Painting: So Daddy sent beautiful irises. The day after they arrived most hadn’t bloomed yet, but they were getting ready too. And I let Charly paint in the living room this time, instead of in her bedroom. I had no clue that she would eventually decide to paint the flowers, but she sure did! And when I saw what she was doing, my eyes actually teared up! So Day 73 Part 1 is the flowers and Part 2 is her painting. :)

She likes to say that there on the end is one extra pink flower that’s different. Thought I’d add that. :)

I haven’t posted since Day 53, AND I seem to have either lost or missed Days 54 and 55. And to put that in perspective, today is Day 68. That’s like 2 weeks since my last post! Yeesh. Okay, let’s get to it.

Day 56: New Fence: Hip hip hooray, we got a fence today!! It’s so rad to be able to just let Annie out the back door…

Day 57: Charly’s V Story: For her V homework’s pictures of things that start with V she made a story out of the pictures. Her teacher put her homework on the wall, with the story written out beneath it. Charly and I were so proud!!

Day 58: Borat Nate: Nate has been dying to grow a mustache. However, God did not make that possible for him, lol. So we bought one.

Day 59 Part 1: Strawberry Pancakes: For her “birthday breakfast” (quotes cuz technically it was the day before her bday) Daddy made strawberry pancakes for her. For the first time. They weren’t bad!

Day 59 Part 2: Awww Moment: This was taken after her birthday party was over, and before she started opening her gifts from us. They’re so sweet, and this pic is currently the one for my desktop. Day 60: Makin OJ: I got a juicer. It’s so rad, and brings back tons of childhood memories. Charly is a great helper. :)

Day 61: Pa Grape Play Doh: One of her birthday presents was this Veggie Tales barbershop play doh set. She’s always making and cutting play doh hair anyways, so I figured I’d buy her a real set.

Day 62: Balloon Handle: I was walking through the living room and saw this. Thought I’d share. *-)

Day 63: Big Girl Shoes: One of the things she bought with her birthday money was a good pair of gym shoes for her nature walks with Daddy. These shouldn’t hurt her feet! And they’re her first pair of real althletic shoes, without lights and velcro and stuff.

Day 64: W Homework: She’s doing so well with her writing!

Day 65: 28282: Yeah I’m a nerd. But it says my age! And note, we bought this car in Dec 07 and then it only had about 4,000 miles on it.

Day 66: Gorgeous Day at the Playground: I didn’t really have a title for this. There’s only so many times I can call a park picture “up the ladder” or whatever, lol. But this day was such a nice one that Charly, Annie, and I went to the playground.

Okay and that’s it. Today is 68 and I haven’t done my pic yet. And I also didn’t do one yesterday. Oh well! I’m actually pretty proud that I’ve mostly been keeping up with it. :D

Whew, It Sucks to be so Busy!

And because we got sick and then I had to spend all my free time catching up on house and work stuff, and family time of course, I let my P365 posting slide. But don't worry, I've taken a pic nearly every day!!

Day 41: Charly Press: Nate was lifting Charly as he would weights and she was having a blast! In this picture she is saluting him. Too cute!

Day 42: Frozen Computer: When I took this photo I was not even thinking about P365. To be completely honest, y'all probably don't want to know what I was thinking. *-) This was at least the 2nd time that morning the computer had frozen and I had lost what I'd been working on. So I took a picture to remind myself of how I had arranged the brushes for an overlay I was working on. Fun stuff!

Day 43: Spoiled Dog: She rolled all the way over and smooshed her face into Daddy's hand just so he'd rub her. The title says it all...

Day 45: Charly's Wall: Each year I take her calendar from the previous year and put the pages all over her walls. It's pretty neat I think. Today was the day we finally did that. I was so glad to be rid of the Care Bears images from the last calendar!

Day 46: Ready for Church: She's beginning to give me fake smiles for the camera. But in this one she just looks kinda solemn in a way. Still so pretty though! Thanks Noni for the gorgeous dress, we took this pic for you!

Day 47: No She Can't Leave!: Today Charly had a friend over and they played for quite awhile! When it was time for her friend to leave, Charly first tried to block her bedroom door so no one could come in or out. Then when that didn't work she tried to block the front door. Poor thing!

Day 48: Nate's Owie: Nate jumped today. That is to say he threw himself out of a perfectly good airplane. He landed wrong, hit the ground and smashed his hand between his head and the ground. The toggle "handle" he holds in his hand went up under his helmet and hit him pretty dang hard. But not hard enough to prevent him from taking a typical Nate picture!

Day 48 Part Two: Silly Annie's Tongue: This was so funny I just had to take a pic and share it! Annie was just lying there with her tongue sticking out. And she didn't put it back in! It was out long enough for us to laugh at her, then for me to go get the camera, come back, set up the shot, and take the picture like 3 times! And after that her tongue was still out! Too too funny.

Day 50: Drying Herself: I've finally decided that Charly can start drying herself off. Then of course she really wanted me to take a photo of her being a monkey...

Day 52: Marbley Play Doh Cheese: I thought this pattern was too cool, so the nerd I am just had to take a pic.

Day 53: Mama's New Curtain: So I decided once that I didn't like my old shower curtain any more. I've been looking at it every day for the past 3 years. It took me at least 6 months to find one I liked. And it ended up being one that wasn't even in the color scheme I was looking for, go figure.

You know I'm really sick if I don't take a picture...

But I only missed two days! Amazing feat, considering I was down for the count for at least four days. Luckily my wonderful Nate let me stay in bed for two whole days. It was Ahhh-mazing! And now I have Days 34-40 to post, minus a couple in the middle...

Day 34: Waiting for Daddy: Nate was gone for 4 solid days, and after about the second one Annie started sleeping by the door, especially around the time that he usually comes home at night. I highly doubt that's a coincidence.

Day 35: Charly's First Pee Cup: Strange I know. I couldn't help myself. Even stranger I think is why I even had the camera with me in the first place at her doctor's appointment. By this time Charly had been sick for 3 solid days and then some ( you can see it in her face), so we thought it best to take her in. Because her stomach has been hurting at mealtimes for awhile now, the doc wanted her to do a urine test. I have never seen someone so excited to pee in a cup in my whole life. Though I should say she was even more excited to hold her pee cup. Hey, at least I wrapped TP around it!

Day 36: Home Remedies: I woke up Thursday morning, the day after I had just been at the doc's for Charly, and I felt like poopoo! So we went off to the store and I bought everything I could think of that could hopefully keep me from becoming sicker. Too bad I didn't have a do-it-yourself-IV kit.

Days 37 and 38 are a blur. I remember being on the couch a lot. I don't believe I thought about my camera at all.

Day 39: QT With Dad: I think Nate was gaming, or maybe just in cyberspace somewhere doing some shopping, and Charly was sharing his desk space making crafts and eating a lollypop. They're so cute together!

Day 40: Hot Air Balloon: Charly was supposed to make something transportation for school. So we made a hot air balloon. Pretty original I think! And the picture on the balloon, the one with the flash glare on it, is of Charly sleeping on a pillow. Just to say.

Today is Day 41 and I just took some DYNAMITE pictures of Nate and Charly playing around. So it's gonna be real hard to pick just one for today. I wonder if a slideshow counts as one picture? Well, whatever it'll be, I'll post it next time. Sayonara!

Finally, my short hair!

On Day 31 I got my hair cut! Almost all of it! No joke, wanna see? Here's Day 31:

Day 32 finds Charly taking after her Mommy and Daddy. Here's my Li'l Gamer:

She spent at least 3 hours on Noggin playing games. Just like her Daddy!...except he doesn't hang out at Noggin, that I know of.

For today, Day 33, I was taking the cutest pics of Charly and her crazy hair (as we call it) when I decided to jump in there too. I figured, it's such a rare thing for me to do, might as well make that a P365 photo. So here's us, being silly (of course!):

That means I've almost made it through this whole pic a day commitment! Yay me! So here are Days 26-30 for ya:

Day 26: Apparently a few people were a little, hmm, not upset, but close, by the way that I showed Charly's new haircut in the last post from only the back. It was like a teaser or something! I thought I had posted Day 26 on here, but I apparently only did it on my personal blog. And might I add, I love love LOVE this picture!! Anyways, so here ya are, Day 26: All Growed Up:

Day 27: Mommy's Braid. Technically Charly took this one, but I told her to. So isn't that akin to using the self timer? I really just wanted to forever remember that I am capable of braiding my own hair, on the first try no less! Oh, and also because tomorrow I'll be getting it cut off. And it won't be this "long" again for awhile.

Day 28: Charly and Annie Playing. They have so much fun! Till Annie bites Charly of course. But we tell her, that's what happens when you rough house with a puppy...

Day 29: Pole and Clouds. I was walking the dog for the millionth time this week, and actually took a minute to breathe in the scenery. Then I ran for the camera; I love sky shots! As you can see, I love lines as well.

Day 30: Gasp! I turned the corner at Wal Mart, and lo and behold guess what I saw. ACID WASH! I know that fashion trends are cyclical and all that, but still. I thought we were all in agreement that acid wash should never come back. Ever. And for the record, I am aware that this is Wal Mart and not Old Navy or Abercrombie or whatever, but still. It's acid wash.

And there ya go. One more day left in January. Maybe if I'm nice, I'll post a pic of me and my new hair. Or maybe it'll just be a pic of Katie cutting it off. We'll see!

First, just to record the 22nd and 23rd of January, we did nothing of interest, lol, except that I decided to cut my hair off. But don't worry, I haven't done it. Yet.

However, we did cut off Charly's hair. Here is Day 24:

And I can't stop saying how adorable she looks!! This haircut so totally matches her personality. I'm sure in the next couple days you will see more pictures of her, just cuz I think she's so dang cute!

And then tonight Nate was working on fixing a ratchety-thing, and Annie was trying so hard to do her toy chewing while being near him at the same time. It was just too cute.

Day 12: Sepia Leaves: Playing with my camera's Sepia Mode. I really like how this one came out:

Day 13: Charly and Rebecca: This one's for my Mom. Here is Charly and her cat Rebecca, that Mom made her for Christmas. They look so snuggly!

Day 14: Annie's A Picky Eater: Our dog discards the food that she doesn't like. I tried to be creative with this one.

Day 15: Self Portrait: Yep it's me. And my computer, sticky notes, bookshelf, mess, MP3 player, and Mt Dew. A pretty accurate self portrait actually, lol.

Day 16: These Pancakes Sucked: Nate titled this one. He loves to make pancakes for us. Unfortunately he changed his recipe, tried something new, and botched it up. His facial expression here is pretty accurate too. ;) Love you honey!!

Day 17: Getting Ready for a Walk: Totally. The title says it all.

Day 18: All Dolled Up: And she was too! So grown up this one, I don't know what to do some days. Slow down Charly!!

Day 19: The Task At Hand: I was taking a picture of the staple for a kit I recently finished (it's the reason for this super long post) when I realized there was more there than just a staple. There was a statement. Maybe.

Day 20: That's A Lotta Snow!: You bet it was! I will be discussing this more on my personal blog, but by my estimate it snowed at least 4 inches yesterday. At least. And every time I had to take Annie out in the melting leftover of this blizzard today, it sure felt like more than 4 inches! (No Michael Scott jokes here please.) I had a lot of pictures to pick from for Day 20, and here's the one I settled on. I think it conveys how much snow there SEEMED to be...

Day 21: Olga's Tea Party: She was such a good sport to let me take her pic for today's photo! Every other Wednesday I work in the nursery at church. Olga worked with me tonight and was served a lovely concoction of ketchup and mustard tea made by two of the cutest hostesses ever! (Oh, and just to say, the quality is what it is because this is from my camera phone. Needless to say, the manufacturer was not too concerned with photo quality when designing my phone.)

Days 10 and 11

January tenth marked the 29th birthday for my dear husband. What better way to spend it than at a place where your table is lit on fire! Last night we went to a Japanese restaurant with Hibachi tables, and it was my dd's first time. Man did she have a good time! So Day 10's photo simply had to be taken there. Not so sure the guy across the table from me would agree, seeing as how he had to suffer my flash. But oh well, you tell me if this pic is worth his millisecond of discomfort. Day 11: finally, a picture of the new puppy! Lol, and wouldn't you know it, she's making the same face I do when someone takes my picture!

So far I'm having a lot of fun with this Project. It's great to finally have an excuse for always having the camera with me. Sometimes my pics aren't artistic shots or anything, but I still enjoy that I'm documenting my everyday moments.

Days 8 and 9

On the 8th, when I was getting Charly ready for bed, I was explaining to her what P365 is, and that I take at least one picture every day. And I was telling her that I didn't know what I would do for that day, what I would take a picture of that night, and she, the aspiring photographer that she is, reminded me that I had gone out into our garden that morning and taken a few pictures of the budding flowers we have. I hadn't even remembered doing it, that's how often I take pictures!

So here is the picture for Day 8:

By the way, here in NC it is certainly the winter season. However, we've had enough nice days, with 60+ degree (F) temps that things are starting to bloom and some grasses are starting to grow. I sure hope my flowers survive the icy temps I know will come through this month and the next!

And then today had taken a picture of our new puppy while I was walking her, and that would have been my Day 9 photo, except that Charly decided to trip and fall in the hallway. So she practically fell to pieces over her knees being "so hurty" and Daddy got her some ice.

I think Daddy making her laugh works better than any old ice pack. Though that could just be my biased opinion.

Now if only I can figure out why my camera takes such noisy shots with an iso set at 100.

Today I saw a gorgeous sunset, and it was fleeting let me tell you! I've decided that with this 365 thing I would finally learn all I can about the RAW setting on my camera and how to develop my RAW photos in Photoshop CS3. So here is the original I took:

Here's my first shot for Project 365. We began 2009 at Nate's parents' house in Oklahoma. Technically this picture of Charly and Grandpa (my dad-in-law) was taken on Dec 31st, but it was already 2009 somewhere, so who's really counting? Being at their house was a most wonderful way to begin the New Year, I'm so very grateful to have in-laws that I love. :)

I recently stumbled across Project 365 and thought, "Hey, why not? That looks like tons of fun!" If you've never heard of it, basically you take one (or at least one in my case, lol) picture every day of the year. Hence the 365 part of the project. The goal is to have a kind of photo diary of your life, from the mundane to the exciting, and the people and moments that help you go between the two. Hopefully in the sidebar I have placed some informative Project 365 links for you. :) I may, however, end up making this into a Project 355, or so, since I hadn't known about it until the 5th of January, and had only taken pictures on the 1st and 7th, so we'll see how this goes. I hope to not miss too many more days though.

And please, support and ideas will be so appreciated! I know there will be days when I feel just tired of taking pictures every day (yes, it IS possible, I'm sure), and so my friends and family may be called upon for encouragement and motivation a time or two. Hope you enjoy!!
